31 Days of Horror Prompts for October #25, 26, 27

horror-promptsHey, everyone. I’ve clearly continued with my “I’m behind on doing my writing prompt responses.” And I very well may continue that for a bit more. I’m hoping to catch up over this weekend, but we’ll see. I will, however, continue to post the prompts ❤ And I’m playing catch up with that today. I actually kind of like doing them in a big post though, because it gives the people who don’t want to do daily prompts a variety all in one place.

Anyway, NaNo is getting closer and closer, so I encourage you to apply these prompts to your characters, if you can. After all, there’s nothing wrong with that!

Prompt #25

“There’s a body-shaped gap in the thick forest brush that wasn’t there before. Upon closer inspection, each of the branches around the gap are seared as if burned.”

Prompt #26

You wake up one day to find your dead husband/best friend sitting in your living room.

Prompt #27

The smell beneath the floorboards was getting worse every day

So, there we go. Three new prompts. I think that they’ll be pretty fun to tackle. I tried to make sure that they each had a different type of feel to them. Bonus points for you guys if you can work in your MC’s from your NaNo novel this year for the prompts – if you do that, make sure to link me back when you post it. I”d love to see what you’re writing, and I’m going to compile and post everything together after you’ve done it.

Even though I’ve been getting behind on these prompts, it has still been a real adventure for me. I really love posting prompts – I usually only do it once a week… and that’s completely manageable for me to complete. Though one every day has been a bit much, just coming up with the prompts is a fun and creative process for me. I’m glad that you guys have been enjoying it as much as you have, and you can rest assured that I’m going to do this again for next Halloween!

Until next time guys!!! Keep reading and writing, and keep being absolutely awesome!

31 Days of Horror Prompts for October #24

horror-prompts

I told you guys that I would try to incorporate your previous writing into this prompt. I did some thinking – if you don’t have previous work, just apply it to a character from scratch.

Prompt #24

Your main character has suddenly been dropped into their worst nightmare.
What is it?

Oh, this actually sounds extremely interesting, even for me. I really can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with! It’s a good practice for NaNoWriMo – you can do it for your as of yet undeveloped characters. Get a little development going!

I hope that you guys enjoyed the prompts. Make sure if you end up writing one of them that you link back to me! At the end of the month, I’ll get a compilation fo all of the prompts posted up, so that everyone can see what we’ve done together during the month!

Until next time guys!!! Keep reading and writing, and keep being absolutely awesome!

31 Days of Horror Prompts for October (#17)

horror-promptsHey, everyone! It’s time for Day 17’s writing prompt in my 31 Horror Prompts for October! I’ve been doing quite a few different things, so I thought I’d go ahead and hop onto something completely different this time. I’m going to feature another photo by the very talented Garett’s Photography (used with his permission)! Photo prompts can be a ton of fun.

There we go! The photo sets the scene, but it’s up to you to tell the real story behind it. We can all look at a picture and see something different – some say that it will tell a thousand words. Tell me, what are your thousand words?

If you end up responding to this prompt, make sure to link back to both myself and Garett!

I’m going to make a list of all of the responses at the end of the month, so we can have a big compilation of horror stories, for anyone who is really in the Halloween mood and wants to get their fix.

Until next time guys!!! Keep reading and writing, and keep being absolutely awesome!
