Inevitable Destruction by Marie Ann
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book really took me by surprise in a very good way. I’ve been reading a lot of fluff in anticipation of getting to this one, because I heard that it was going to be a doozy, and I wasn’t wrong.
This book really deep dives into trauma and the way it can make people behave, act, think, and feel. The author does an amazing job of making you root for both characters, even though they weren’t both the ‘good guy’. Everett and Dominik are both extremely realistic in the fact that they carry their flaws with them and it influences the way they act throughout the novel.
If you’re worried, don’t be. There is a hard, hard, hard-fought HEA. You just have to wade through the intensity to get to it!
What I loved:
The characters. Rhett and Dominik are honestly just chef’s kiss complex.
The way it made me have to take breaks to breathe. That’s a good thing. I promise.
*That hard-fought HEA.
