Weekly Writing Update

It’s time for another writing update, and I have to say that I am once again pretty happy with my progress! There are multiple things to talk about here, so let’s dive right in to my word count first. As of yesterday, my total has come up to 21,039 words!

As you can see, I’m doing pretty good of keeping on track with my 1k a day again, and I’m trying to get as much of my novel edited as possible. I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to finish it before the month is up, and if I haven’t, then I’m going to dedicate my Camp NaNoWriMo to finishing it before the end of July.

Oh, by the way, did I mention that Camp NaNoWriMo is happening in July, and I’m extremely excited for it?

As you can see from the chart above, I’ve hit some higher word counts this week, and I’m really hoping that I can keep that up – I still want to manage my 1 million words in a year goal, and I know that I’m not going to be able to do that unless I pick up my pace. I can’t just have 1k days and still make it… but I’m sure that if I try and put forth a little effort and push myself, I can – this is why I love having stretch goals! I don’t just feel like I can coast by with the 1k a day that I know I can do… I’m trying to push myself, to better myself in order to get to that stretch goal. I really do recommend that everyone sets themselves two sets of goals for this reason!

Aside from that, my writing has been going fairly smoothly. I’ve been working on my novel and my blog posts a lot more than my fanfiction lately, which makes me a bit sad. I do have a few fics that I want to get updated within this next week of writing, so I’m setting that as my little weekly goal – to update at least 2 of my fanfics. We will see if I get there, but since I’ve declared the goal here, it will put more importance and focus on me finishing it. It’s why I love this blog – it helps to keep me so accountable of the goals that I set for myself, and I couldn’t ask for anything more than that.

As for my writing today? I finished my book review (scheduled to be posted on Friday), and with this blog, I’ve already tottered over 1k today without even doing my creative writing. I plan on finishing edits on Chapter 4 of Cerulean Darkness, so that should net me close to another 1k… and I will start working on one of those fanfics that I want to update.

Also, another little writing update, in reference to how I keep up with my words and things that you can expect pictures of – I’ve started a bullet journal! I spent last night watching videos on them for a few hours, and decided that it was something that I could really use! I’m going to see how I like it, and hopefully it’s a habit that will stick, because it seems like it can help you to be very productive and accountable of where your time goes! So, if all works out well, next Sunday’s Writing update will also include a Bullet Journal Update! We will see! For now, however, I should get to my novel edits, so I will leave you guys here!

If there’s any blog topics that you want to see discussed, anything that you’d like me to give some thought to, just send me a comment. Otherwise, happy writing, and keep on reading, guys!

Until next time,

Bullet journals are the best. Well done on hitting your goals this week. There are some lovely bullet journals out there, artistic and colourful. My own one is quite simple. Have a good week 🙂 Elegances

I’d actually never heard of a bullet journal until now. It sounds pretty awesome! Good luck with it and on getting some work done on your fanfics ^-^
